IACC-USA Meeting on April 21, 2010

                   IACC-USA hosted a meeting on Wednesday, April 21, 2010. The event was attended by more than 50 participants. Everyone attending enjoyed an informative evening featuring a presentation titled "National Health Care Plan – A View from the Trenches" made by Dr. Narinder Sherma. Everyone present took back valuable information on the importance of the subject matter. 

IACC-USA Reception, April 13, 2010

                   IACC-USA hosted a reception for a delegation from India comprising of Automotive Component Manufacturers. The Indo American Chamber of Commerce (India) led the delegation. The reception was held at the Design Studio of American Specialty Cars in Warren, MI.
IACC-USA is grateful to Clark Hill, and MADM, PC for sponsoring the event, and to American Specialty Cars for opening their Design Studio for this event. More than 100 attendees enjoyed a delicious Indian meal catered from Ashoka Indian Cuisine, and enjoyed networking with the members of the delegation from India. This was the most well attended event hosted by IACC-USA and everyone present had a great time and made some valuable contacts.

                   IACC-USA held a meeting hosted by Lakeshore Engineering on Wednesday, March 17, 2010. The event was attended by more than 40 participants. Everyone attending enjoyed an informative evening featuring a presentation titled "Detroit Regional Chamber’s Trade Missions to India" made by Dick Blouse, President & CEO, DRC. Everyone present took back valuable information on the importance of the subject matter.

                   IACC-USA hosted a meeting at Priya Restaurant in Farmington Hills on Wednesday, December 9, 2009. The event was attended by more than 30 participants. Everyone attending enjoyed an informative evening featuring a presentation titled "Estate Planning Fundamentals" made by Rahul Arora, a prominent attorney who specializes in Estate Planning. Everyone present took back valuable information on the importance of Estate Planning and factors to consider when planning one’s estate.

                   IACC-USA hosted its annual banquet at Farmington Hills Manor on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. The event was attended by more than 100 participants. Everyone attending enjoyed the fun-filled evening including a delightful Indian dinner, interesting speeches by: Monish Verma, President, IACC-USA, Maureen Krauss, Director, Oakland County Department of Economic Development & Community Affairs, and, Dr. Rajesh Gulati, Michigan Association of Physicians of Indian Origin, and finally, a raffle of exciting prizes. IACC-USA Meeting, October 21, 2009

                   IACC-USA hosted an outstanding event on October 21, 2009 at the office of UBS, Inc in Farmington Hills, MI. Mr. Amarnath Gowda and Mr. Jeffrey Weisberg, both Immigration Attorneys presented the current status of H1B applications and answered several questions related to immigration and skilled technical/software employees. This presentation which was hosted by Mr. Amarnath Gowda was yet another well-attended and successful event presented by the Indo American Chamber of Commerce-USA.

                   IACC-USA hosted an outstanding event on September 16, 2009 at the law office of Clark Hill in Birmingham, MI. Three knowledgeable panelists talked about opportunities for business development in the area of Renewable Energy. The event was moderated by Mr. Mahesh Nayak of Clark Hill. This presentation was yet another well-attended and successful event hosted by the Indo American Chamber of Commerce-USA.

IACC-USA Golf Outing, August 4, 2009

                   IACC-USA hosted its annual golf outing at Fox Hills, Plymouth, MI on the morning of Friday, August 4, 2009. The event was attended by 80 participants. Everyone attending had a fun-filled outing with a beautiful day for the golf game, a delightful lunch, and a great opportunity to network with old friends and make new business alliances.

                   IACC-USA hosted its recent monthly meeting on June 18, 2009 at the Detroit, Michigan Law Office of Miller Canfield. Expert panelists (Dr. Anil Hingwe and Professor Jagadeesh Sivadasan) talked about the business climate in India and answered the many interesting questions posed by a capacity audience of more than 60 attendees. The view overlooking the Detroit river was spectacular and the refreshments were delightful. IACC-USA sincerely thanks Miller Canfield for hosting this outstanding event.

                   IACC-USA hosted its recent monthly meeting on May 20, 2009 at the Southfield, Michigan office of Comerica Bank. Suzy Alberts & Jeff Levine of Comerica made an informative presentation titled, "Insurance Strategies to protect you, your business & your employees" providing valuable information on saving costs for health insurance.
Several attendees participated in the networking and enjoyed the presentation as well as the delicious pizza at the meeting hosted by Comerica Bank.

                   IACC-USA hosted its monthly meeting on April 15, 2009 at the office of Lakeshore Engineering Services in Detroit. Mr. Robert Noble, Consul General, Consulate General of Canada in Detroit, made an informative and engrossing presentation on the business opportunities offered by the government of Canada to business owners in the U.S.
More than 40 attendees participated in the networking and enjoyed the presentation as well as the delicious catered dinner hosted by the Lakeshore Group.

                   IACC-USA hosted a monthly meeting of on March 18, 2009 at the office of UBS Financial Services. Mr. Monish Verma, VP, Investments, UBS, made an informative and detailed presentation on the current economic crisis and what types of investments are currently suitable for the prudent investor. Also, Mr. Narendra Balasubramaniam, Advisor, Global Crosswalk talked about his pleasant experience at the Bharatiya Pravasi Divas (NRI Day) in New Delhi. Several attendees participated in the networking and enjoyed the presentation, the delicious pizza and soft drinks.

                   IACC-USA hosted its annual Holiday Party at Farmington Hills Manor on December 17, 2008.
The event was well attended by more than 100 guests. Invited speakers were: U.S.
Congressman Gary Peters; Ramesh Verma of the State of Michigan Council on Diversity &
Aging; and innovator Dr. Aaron Crumm. Following the informative speeches, dinner was
served and several raffle prizes were announced. A good time was had by all attendees!

                   On November 19, 2008, IACC-USA hosted a presentation by Anil Sakhuja, COO, Alan C. Young. The topic was, "How to start a Business". The meeting was attended by twenty five business people. The presentation was very interesting and informative, and offered valuable information on the steps to follow after one has one's business plans established and the business has been kicked off. He offered valuable insight into the various procedures to follow, and record-keeping requirements by IRS.

Mr. Sakhuja's presentation was later E-mailed to all members.

                   On October 15, 2008, IACC-USA hosted a presentation by Avinash Rachmale, President & CEO, Lakeshore Group. The topic was, "A Closer Look at Investment Opportunities in the City of Detroit". The meeting was attended by twenty five business people. The presentation was very interesting and informative, and offered valuable information on Commercial as well as Residential Real Estate available at bargain prices within the city. He also explained how a significant Return on Investment can be achieved through real estate investments that merit tax breaks from city and federal governments, as well as offer the potential for appreciation of value.

The meeting was attended by more than forty business people. The presentation was very interesting and informative, and offered valuable information on the current status and trends in the banking industry which was particularly topical and relevant.

The topic was, "Protecting Your Trade Secrets in this Brave New World of Employee Mobility". It was attended by several business people. The presentation was very interesting and informative, and offered valuable information. This presentation will be rescheduled in the future to provide this important information to a wider audience.

                   On June 18, 2008, IACC-USA hosted a presentation by Monish Verma, VP - Wealth Management, citi Smith Barney.
The topic was,
"Retirement Planning for Business Owners and Executives". It was attended by 25 business people. The presentation was very interesting and informative, and offered valuable information on IRA accounts, Roth IRA accounts, and Section 162 Bonus Plans. A Family Wealth Management structure was presented which provides a roadmap for all facets that need to be paid attention to. Monish also informed all attendees about a valuable instrument called the "Document Locator".

                   On May 21, 2008, IACC-USA hosted a presentation by Kevin Parikh, Executive VP, Lakeshore Engineering Services on, " How to do business with Federal Government Agencies ". It was attended by 23 business people. The presentation was very interesting and informative, and offered various alternatives with detailed information regarding requirements to qualify as a supplier or contractor to the U.S. Government . The handouts included valuable information including URL locations of websites containing relevant information.

A meeting schedule for the rest of the year was announced; it includes a meeting on the third Wednesday of each month from 6 PM to 7:30 PM at Haandi Indian Cuisine, Livonia, MI. Mr. Anil Sakhuja, COO, Alan C. Young Co. made an informative and detailed presentation on "Tax-saving Tips for Individuals & Businesses". The topic was timely due to the tax filing deadline on April 15, 2008. More than 30 attendees enjoyed the presentation. Savory appetizers and soft drinks were provided by Haandi Indian Cuisine.
